Hague is located on the shores of Lake George in Warren County and is part of the Glens Falls area. Named after the city in Holland, Hague had a population of 854 residents in the 2000 census. Beautiful Lake George boasts swimming, boating, sailing, fishing, kayaking and other water sports, along with hiking and camping along the north shore of the lake. Wintertime brings other activities to the area, such as ice fishing, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing on miles of Adirondack wilderness trails. Special events include the Annual Fireworks at Hague Town Park and the "Best 4th in the North" in nearby Ticonderoga. The town of Hague also hosts an Annual Christmas Party and Winter Carnival that is a special treat for visitors and locals. Hague is also just a short drive to many historical sites and other Adirondack attractions, such as Fort Ticonderoga, Mount Defiance, Lake George Village and Lake Placid. Nearby Glens Falls is known for its pristine, tree-lined streets and City Park complete with bandstand and beautiful flower gardens. Crandall Park, on the north side of town, is the site of the Glens Falls International Ski Trail, which is part of the famous National Recreational Trail System. The whole Hague/Lake George region is filled with activities year round and makes a wonderful vacation destination for everyone.

Hague Weather & Climate

The weather in the Adirondacks can be variable, but historically the area has not been subjected to the devastation of hurricanes, earthquakes and tornadoes that plague other parts of the country. There are four distinct seasons with winters marked by consistent snowfall and cold, crisp days. Summers are warm and pleasant, with temperatures rarely climbing above 90 degrees, and evenings with low humidity. In fact, in some areas of higher elevation, summer evenings can be downright cool. Generally, there is no rainy season in the Adirondacks, but rather there are both wet and dry spells in every season. Rain in the mountains has uneven patterns. It can be raining in one spot and ten miles away it will be dry as a bone. The western Adirondacks can experience lake effect snowstorms as early as October, from Watertown to Old Forge and areas south.
