Belleayre-Mountain is a fun-filled adventure park located in the heart of the Catskills near Balsam Mountain, which is one of the highest peaks in The Catskill Range, and Slide Mountain, the highest peak in the Catskills. Known for its incredible snow skiing, The Forest Preserve at Belleayre Mountain was created in 1885 and declared "Forever Wild," by New York State. In the 1930s, skiers started arriving to the mountain by the dozens, and by the late 1940s, its' popularity could no longer be ignored, and it soon became a four-season resort area. Summer activities include trout fishing and fly fishing in the nearby Esopus Creek, there are miles of state marked trails for hiking and mountain biking, and golf, tennis, canoeing and tubing, and of course, wintertime skiing, tubing, sledding and snowshoeing are also available in the area. Belleayre Beach at Pine Hill Lake offers swimming, rowboat, pedal boat and kayak rentals, fishing, picnicking, horseshoes and volleyball. A sky ride in the park provides incredible views of The Forest Preserve. The Belleayre region is growing each year, and other attractions a Trolley Ride, Old Time Train Ride, Belleayre Conservatory Summer Concert Series. The entire Catskills region is the ultimate relaxing vacation destination with spectacular scenery, covered bridges, small towns and antique stores, country fairs and festivals.

Belleayre Mountain Weather & Climate

The Catskills region has cold, snowy winters and warm summers, but without the stifling, oppressive heat and humidity of some coastal areas. Normally, the hottest week of the year in the Catskills is the third week of July. September offers mild days and cool nights and October is a kaleidoscope of color. "Jack Frost" will likely make his first appearance in October, and the first hard freeze is usually at the end of that month. November is unpredictable and with December comes colder temperatures and more moisture - either in the form of rain or snow. The full force of the winter season arrives in January and stays around until March in the Catskills. Average January temperatures are a good three to four degrees colder at elevations from one to two thousand feet and over seven degrees colder at over two thousand feet.
